I have no clue what comment Toph is on, but I feel like a question meme.

I play Toph, Zel, Melisan and Leedin here; Lafiel and the yet-to-be-introduced Empathy Core over on enrichment_center. And, well, if you know me from anywhere else (Sabra, Entanglement, etc.), ask about any of those folks too!

For the new, basically: ask me a question. I'll ask you one back! And so on, and so on. (You may need to remind me of alts and such.)

He thinks that being an alien who lives in space is the coolest thing ever, but aside from that... she's smart, she's friendly, and he likewise thinks she'll be good help in a rebellion.

Thusia-wise, how's Zel doing?

Finally realizing he's homesick and accepting that he misses his friends from home and would like to see them again, but also not because he doesn't want them to die. (Also, any Hydracula that are not here -- no, you can stay home, really.) Thankfully Sabra accustomed him to staying in one place, or he'd be getting a severe sense of wanderlust; as-is, he's trying to keep himself busy figuring out ways to circumvent the gods for non-food things. He's also contemplating having an informal Thusia Mages Guild, because talking shop with Wisdom and others is actually fun. Zel is a bit of a knowledge packrat.

Ryner's reactions to Rory and Sion and Thusia in general.

To Rory... he hasn't gotten an explanation of Lyvus yet, so he's got a vague confusion of "who is this 'Colt' guy who looks like me?" along with... hm, I guess a gratefulness that there's someone who knows something about medicine around? And has some clever ideas about how to force Sion to nap (his misinterpretation of things aside).

For Sion... OH GOD YOU'RE DEAD but at least I won't be alone here! It's really a mixed bag; he doesn't want his bff (or himself) dead, but he likewise really doesn't want to be alone. Even if his life is cursed to never have nice things. So if he can have his best friend around, even if they're both dead, he sees it as not being so bad.

For Thusia in general... this place is a pain in the ass.

Not really? Sort of vague things I'd like to do. Like having Leedin run a mini-event because I haven't done much with her.

Would you/are you going to app a god here or a core over at EC?

I've thought of it, though I'm not sure what I'd do exactly for either of them. Plus I'm suddenly playing a lot of characters (five total when I'm... sort of used to one) so what is balance \o/. But! If I can think of a good idea or someone tosses me one that takes root, I'd probably go for it!

If you could do a second at EC (or if you had a second choice), who would it be?

About a week after I sent in my app, I realized it would be a horrible place to send Miles Vorkosigan, and simultaneously, it would mean I could actually play him with actual icons.

I don't know if you know the canon, but Miles is another SFnal character. He's hard to cast because an assassination attempt on his parents while his mother was pregnant with him left him crippled from birth. So, like Ed, waking up in a body grown from his genes would be immediately a give-away. (Sort of the reverse of Cap.)

Also, in his canon, the rich and unethical grow clones for spare parts and Miles himself has a clone-brother (Mark) who was created for an assassination plot against Miles's father and foster-brother.

That and for all that he's a borderline manic-depressive genius, he's fun to play even if channeling that much energy is *hard*. The problem is, playing him and Lafiel in the same setting could be hard, since both are space captains. (Well, Miles had a career change.)

So, really, I'd probably go with a fantasy character, probably either one physically non-human or non-humanoid or someone who would feel interesting things without her powers.

Oh man, I don't know that canon but it sounds interesting just from that much of it.

Ed is always sort of my first choice for everything. XD I do enjoy playing him, and the idea of the clone bodies really pushed me into wanting to play him... that said, with as much fun as I'm having with Ryner in Thusia so far, I think he would also be an interesting choice for something like EC, and it would be interesting to figure out exactly how the cloning process would affect his various headmonsters--he was born with a pretty nasty one, and a second was more or less implanted into him to bring the first under control, so it's hard to say if some (depowered) part of Headmonster 1 would or wouldn't be present and lacking the control element of Headmonster 2.

Beyond those thoughts, I think anyone I'd do would have to be someone like them, or Miles, or Cap, where they've undergone some major alteration in their life and the cloning process reverts them to their original form, because the concept's too interesting to not play with.

Is Zel "true end" for his Sabra path or is he a bad-ended AU for the purpose of tossing him into Thusia?

Technically Zel is a bad-end AU since I apped him before I knew how Sabra would turn out. About the only differences was that he was never present at the final battle, and isn't sure if Lina's soul* made it back to his world in one piece or not. The second mostly means he'll have an irrational reaction if we ever get a Lina.

Would you ever app an original character to Thusia?

* Someone played Lina Inverse as a Hydra for a very short time; short enough that Zel never learned that Sparky was someone he knew until after she was pillar'd. It was also well before partner-teams, in one of those odd coincidences.

I have considered it! Though I have no idea if I could handle the extra character right now, there's a couple of OCs I might toss in there.

(I have also had idle thoughts for a god app based on a god/demon character from one of my stories, however, I have absolutely zero idea how to fit him into Thusia's design and domains, so it is nothing more than the idlest of idle thoughts.)

How's Lafiel dealing with EC so far?

Mostly, she's treating it as a Prisoner of War situation, though having Zeta around helps her temper a lot of her natural inclinations which mostly would get her killed (probably repeatedly) for failure to cooperate.

She's kind of put herself into 'leader' of Zeta (though Yuri or Shepard might take it from her if either wants it), which means she has an obligation to her 'crew' that means she has to minimally cooperate to keep everyone fed and alive.

She's pretty intent on escaping, but her first step is to gather information -- both on people and on the center. Finding out that Shepard knows something about computers made her pretty happy; Lafiel knows she can navigate well, but she's not a computer person. Well, no more than what she needs for her job.

Tell me about the god/demon from your stories.

He feeds on feelings of chaos and revenge, actually... which doesn't fit well at all with Thusia. XD He binds characters to him who are willing to seek vengeance at any cost, and grants them the ability to seek it, but not necessarily enough to attain it, so he can continue to absorb the negativity of their feelings and strengthen himself. So if I came up with a template that would make him fit, it'd mainly be an expy of his personality only, not so much his domain--he's smooth, he's quietly manipulative, he's charming, and I always enjoyed working on his scenes.

Okay, how's Ed taking EC?

He is NOT HAPPY. From his POV, everything is completely wrong in every way about EC--the clone body (which he still doesn't know is a clone body exactly) is missing all his scars and has extra limbs he shouldn't have, most of the dates he's heard are over a hundred years off, the map in the simulation and the countries Alfons mentioned are all ones he's never heard of, and... well Alfons in general. Crazy not!brother thing who knows far too much about him.

If he keeps not finding out about the clone bodies, I give him only a couple more days before he decides that maybe he actually is the insane one here, because everyone's information matches each other so much, and his is the only info that's wrong. (If he gets truly desperate, he may even go find Kimbley...)

So I haven't exactly threaded with her (though you're free to toss her at the teahouse), but how's Toph dealing with Thusia so far? I have seen enough AtlA to know at least something about her don't judge me for not finishing.

Mostly by being a little punk. She won't admit she's homesick to the people she's mostly befriended.

And I should have her drop by the teahouse just because it reminds her of Iroh.

Yes definitely the teahouse is always open to everyone /o/
