So, Toph is blind. She also has an extra sense via her superpowers that mostly make up for this. The full details are on the wiki

Short version
• Toph senses the vibrations through the stone beneath her feet. She can't see surface markings or fine details like facial expressions. She can see behind her.

• Toph gets something of a 3-D view of people. She can sometimes detect lies (Azula could beat her, but Azula lies effortlessly). She also can detect internal injuries.

• Given the latter, she can probably do things like detect people who are obviously not human. Not on the Vulcans have hearts on the other side of their chests, but on the 'I didn't bother to make bones' thing. Or people like Al, who looks like a hollow suit of metal armor to Toph.

• She has special pings (and the ability to manipulate) rock and metal.

• These don't work if Toph isn't on earth or stone or metal.

So, mostly it's opt-in if you want her calling you on your lies, or realizing that you aren't human or anything else funny that a 'normal human' will miss. Or just cuing me in to thibngs.

-Feel free to tell the weird things going on with Izumi Curtis' anatomy, if you think she's able. Feel free to tell when she's lying.

-Isabela has a little bit of armor, wears lots of gold, will be accumulating an ever-growing collection of knives on her person. Feel free to tell when she's lying.

-Revan wears plenty of metal armor, of an alien composition (cortosis weave). Lightsaber might ping as interesting, due to the metal and focusing crystals. Jedi control their physiology, so there won't be a reaction to pick up if he's lying unless there's a particular set of circumstances, such as injury/poison/drugs/intoxication. (Some Jedi can even make themselves appear braindead to medical scanners.) Besides, he has practice lying to people with extra senses.

Natsume and Kaori probably both ping as very odd in how they walk in their human forms, as if they have a very light four-legged animal walking in their steps. It's almost shadow-like and very, very vague. In Natsume's case she could also detect a pair of tails and ears atop her head, in the same vague way.

NATSUME IS ALSO A TERRIBLE LIAR but Kaori is significantly better, when she cares to be.
